I am recharged by coastal goodness – the smells, sounds, soft colours, light, sand and rhythms. The remedial benefits are well known, sometimes when we are far from the sea, an image is all it takes to transport our mind straight back to those feelings.

Landscape
Inspired by the great painters of the past, my images have a timeless feel to them once they have had the Little Red Birdy Treatment applied. You will see paint strokes and textures synonymous with impressionistic art. The light breaking across the city from the top of the hill at the arboretum or sunset over the ranges. I love Canberra’s beautiful landscapes and find lots of inspiration from them.

Canberra
Living in Canberra I’m surrounded by many beautiful views and you will see the Capital featured in many of my images. Light and shade are what I notice first in a scene. It inspires me to capture an image that may never be repeated. There is a beautiful light you only get at sunrise or sunset, the stunning lights by the sea, pretty, dappled leaf light and intricate lacy tree branch silhouettes against the sky.

Trees
Trees are amazing! You will see they feature strongly in Little Red Birdy artwork. They are so elegant, architectural and ever-changing. Each season brings new beauty for trees: there are autumn leaves, spring blossoms, tree skeletons, bulging buds and summer shade and they are in many of my images.
